“URALIKS” (URALIKS) is a complex of biologically active components, a combination of which favorably influences various regulatory mechanisms and allows to alleviate hyperuricemia, gout and elevated uric acid levels and prevent their progression.

• Quercetin is a natural chemical compound of flavonoid group. Clinical studies have shown that quercetin, when used for 4 weeks significantly reduces the level of uric acid in the blood by 26%. This is due to direct inhibition of xanthine oxidase enzyme and by increasing the removal of uric acid through the kidneys by increasing its filtration in the renal tubules. Quercetin exhibits a dose-dependent anti-inflammatory effect in gouty arthritis, reducing tissue edema by reducing levels of pro-inflammatory molecules (IL-1b, TNF-a, NO, COX-2 and PGE2) and increasing the body’s antioxidant defense. Plants rich in luteolin have traditionally been used to treat inflammatory diseases. Research has shown that luteolin has the highest inhibitory activity among flavonoids for the xanthine oxidase enzyme. It also has anti-inflammatory activity, reducing the production of pro-inflammatory molecules (interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α) and antioxidant activity by binding free radicals.

In addition, luteolin reduces the production of the URAT1 transporter protein, which returns 90% of uric acid to our bloodstream.Also, luteolin reduces tissue swelling caused by the deposition of urate crystals and restores kidney function impaired by excess uric acid.

• Smilax prerechnyi is a semi-evergreen liana native to Japan, Korea, the Philippines and the Russian Far East. The roots of Smilax contain steroid saponins, bitter substances, resins, and have been shown to decrease uric acid levels in the blood by facilitating its excretion by the kidneys. In addition to reducing the level of uric acid, Smilaxquinoside (one of the active steroid glycosides of Smilax prerechenii) has nephroprotective effect and restores the structure of kidney tissue when it is damaged by salts of uric acid.
