The active ingredients of chamomile, marshmallow and horsetail increase the activity of nonspecific defense factors by increasing the phagocytic activity of macrophages and granulocytes. Polysaccharides, essential oils and flavonoids of chamomile, marshmallow and yarrow have anti-inflammatory effects and reduce respiratory mucosal edema. Tannins of oak bark have antiviral activity.

Pharmacokinetics

The action of Tonsilgon N is the combined action of its components, so kinetic studies are not possible; all components together cannot be traced by markers or bioassays.

Indications

Acute and chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis).

The prevention of complications of respiratory viral infections and as an adjunct to antibiotic therapy for bacterial infections.

How to take, the dosage

Ingestion. The tablet is swallowed whole, without chewing, with water if necessary.

In acute period of the disease in adults – 2 tablets 5-6 times / day, school-age children (over 6 years) – 1 tablet 5-6 times / day.

After acute symptoms of the disease have disappeared (sore throat) the drug should be continued for 1 more week;

After acute symptoms disappear in adults 2 pills 3 times per day, in children of school age (over 6 years) – 1 tablet 3 times per day.

If symptoms persist or worsen after 7 days of use, consult a physician.

One tablet contains less than 0.03 countable “bread units” (BE).

The combination of Tonsilgon with antibacterial agents is possible and appropriate.

Influence on driving and operating machinery

The drug does not impair the ability to drive or operate machinery.

Contraindications

Side effects

Gastrointestinal disorders: nausea, vomiting.

Possible allergic reactions.

In case of signs of an allergic reaction, discontinue the drug.

Overdose

To date, no cases of overdose have been reported.

Symptoms: In case of overdose, gastrointestinal side effects may increase.
