A combined drug for the elimination of symptoms of acute respiratory infections and colds.

Paracetamol has antipyretic and analgesic effect.

Phenylephrine is an alpha-adrenomimetic which has a vasoconstrictor effect, helps relieve nasal congestion and reduces nasal secretion.

Chlorphenamine is a blocker of H1-histamine receptors; it has anti-allergic action, suppresses symptoms of allergic rhinitis (decreases vascular permeability and removes edema and hyperemia of the nasal cavity mucosa).

Dextromethorphan is an anti-cough remedy, by its force of action it is close to codeine, increases the sensitivity threshold of the cough center of the medulla oblongata, suppresses cough of any origin, eliminates the irritating effect of dry unproductive cough and is well tolerated by all age groups.

It has some sedative effect. Does not have analgesic, narcotic and sleeping pills. Does not suppress respiratory center and activity of ciliary epithelium.

The beginning of action is within 20-30 minutes and its duration is 4-4.5 hours.

Brilliant blue dye 0.13 mg,

Punsenberry dye (Ponceau 4R) 1.50 mg.

Composition of the shell

Water, gelatin, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sodium lauryl sulfate, diamond blue dye.

How to take, the dosage

In adults, 1 capsule every 4-6 hours, but not more than 4 capsules per day.

Take as an antipyretic for no more than 3 days without physician’s consultation.

Interaction

Accelerates the effects of MAO inhibitors, sedatives, ethanol.

Antidepressants, antiparkinsonics, antipsychotics, phenothiazine derivatives increase the risk of urinary retention, dry mouth, constipation.

Glucocorticosteroids increase the risk of glaucoma.

Paracetamol reduces the effectiveness of uricosuric drugs.

Chlorpheniramine prescribed concomitantly with MAO inhibitors and furazolidone may lead to the development of a hypertensive crisis, psychomotor agitation, and fever.

Tricyclic antidepressants increase sympathomimetic effects, concomitant administration of halothane increases the risk of ventricular arrhythmia.

Decreases the hypotensive effect of guanethidine, which, in turn, increases the alpha-adrenergic stimulating activity of phenylephrine.

Special Instructions

During treatment, do not take other drugs containing the substances contained in the drug.

In persons suffering from chronic alcoholism, taking therapeutic doses of the drug may cause severe hepatic failure.

At the time of treatment it is necessary to refrain from using ethanol (development of hepatotoxic effect is possible).

Impact on driving and operating machinery

During the treatment period it is necessary to refrain from driving and engaging in other potentially dangerous activities requiring increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions.

Side effects

Nervous system and sensory organs: dizziness, somnolence, increased excitability, mydriasis, accommodation paresis, increased intraocular pressure.

Digestive system disorders: dry mouth, epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting, hepatotoxic effect.

Hematopoietic system disorders: anemia, thrombocytopenia, hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia.

More urinary system disorders: urinary retention, nephrotoxicity (papillary necrosis).

Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, angioedema, bronchoobstruction.

Others: increase in BP.

Overdose

Symptoms (caused by paracetamol, occurs after taking more than 10-15 g): pale skin, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, hepatonecrosis, increased liver transaminases activity, increased prothrombin time.

Treatment: gastric lavage followed by administration of activated charcoal, symptomatic therapy.

Pregnancy use

Contraindication – pregnancy; period of lactation.

Pediatric use

Contraindication – childhood (under 14 years).
