Antitumor agent, semi-synthetic analogue of paclitaxel. Mechanism of action is related to tubulin accumulation in microtubules of mitotic spindle, which leads to disruption of their assembly and disassembly processes. Disrupts cell division in the G2 and M phases of the cell cycle.

Docetaxel should not be used if bilirubin is greater than IUF in combination with hepatic transaminase activity 1.5 times IUF and alkaline phosphatase activity 2.5 times IUF.
Before starting therapy, patients are treated with oral GCS. The chance of allergic reactions and edema is significantly increased in patients who have not received prior therapy.
At the time of treatment, systematic monitoring of peripheral blood counts is necessary to determine the degree of myelodepression.

Side effects
Hematopoietic system disorders: neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia.
Digestive system disorders: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, increased serum levels of transaminases and bilirubin; rarely – stomatitis.
Nervous system disorders: paresthesias and hyperesthesia.
Muscular system disorders: arthralgia, myalgia.
Allergic reactions: skin manifestations are possible; bronchospasm is rare.
Dermatological reactions: skin rash, mainly in the area of feet, palms, but also in the upper extremities, face, chest, often accompanied with itching, sometimes with subsequent desquamation; hypo- or hyperpigmentation of nails and onycholisis; alopecia.
Water-electrolyte metabolism: fluid retention in the body, including ascites, peripheral edema.
Cardiovascular system disorders: arterial hypotension and heart rhythm disorders.
