Traditional herbal medicine. The drug has an expectorant, anti-inflammatory effect, helps to reduce the viscosity of sputum and accelerate its excretion.

If the patient’s condition does not improve or in case of choking attacks, purulent phlegm or if the body temperature increases, you should immediately consult a physician.
Stoptussin FITO contains 62% of sucrose, so it should be used with caution in patients with diabetes and people on a low-carb diet. In 1 teaspoon of the preparation Stoptussin fito contains up to 3.1 g of sucrose (corresponding to 0.28 CGU), in a tablespoon – up to 9.3 g of sucrose (corresponding to 0.85 CGU).
Preparation Stoptussin fito contains 3.4% (vol.) of ethanol: 1 teaspoon of syrup (5 ml) contains up to 0.14 g of absolute ethanol; 1 tablespoon of syrup (15 ml) – up to 0.42 g of absolute ethanol; the maximum daily dose of Stoptussin FITO preparation for adults (60 ml) contains up to 1.68 g of absolute ethanol.

Influence on ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery

There is no information about possible effect on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery. Due to its alcohol content, the drug may adversely affect the ability to perform these activities. During the treatment with the drug Stoptussin FITO one should refrain from potentially dangerous activities requiring high concentration and quick psychomotor reactions (driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms, work of dispatcher, operator).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug components; in patients with known intolerance to honey and bee products; hypersensitivity to plants of the Lamiaceae family; chronic heart failure (decompensation stage); congenital fructose intolerance; glucose-galactose malabsorption; sucrose/isomaltase deficiency; pregnancy; breastfeeding; children under 1 year of age.

With caution
Alcoholism, epilepsy, brain injury, brain disease, liver disease, diabetes, children under 4 years of age. Children from 1 to 4 years old can take the drug only on the recommendation of the doctor.

Side effects

The undesired reactions are systematized according to the World Health Organization (WHO) Classification: frequency is unknown (cannot be determined based on available data).

Allergic reactions: frequency unknown-dyspnea, skin rash, urticaria, and swelling of the face, mouth, or throat (Quincke’s edema).

Disorders of the digestive system: frequency unknown – cramps, nausea, vomiting.

In these cases, as well as in case of the development of any adverse events not specified in the instructions, the use of the drug should be discontinued and the patient should consult a physician.
