Spregal is a combination drug for the treatment of scabies.
The drug contains esdepalethrin, which is a neurotoxic poison for insects.
The mechanism of action is disruption of cation exchange of nerve cell membranes. Piperonyl butoxide enhances the action of esdepalletrin.
Pharmacokinetics
The components included in the drug are detectable in the patient’s blood 1 h after external application of Spregal. Cmax esdepalletrine is reached 1 h after application of the drug; Cmax piperonyl butoxide is reached 2 h after application.
24 hours after the use of the drug, the concentration of its components in plasma is minimal and in some cases undetectable. 48 hours after administration of Spregal, no traces of its components are detected in the patient’s blood plasma.
Indications
Treatment of scabies in adults, children and infants.

10 g of the solution contains:

How to take, the dosage
Treatment should preferably be started in the evening (after 6 or 7 p.m.) to allow the drug to work through the night. Do not wash after application.
Shake the can thoroughly before use. By spraying the product thoroughly on the surface of the body (except on the face and head) at a distance of 20-30 cm from the surface of the skin.
The product is applied first on the torso and then on the extremities (the treated areas begin to shine). Apply particularly thoroughly between fingers, toes, armpits, crotch, all bends and affected areas and leave on the skin for 12 hours. After 12 hours you should wash thoroughly with soap and water and dry yourself.
As a rule, a single application of Spregal is enough. However, it should be kept in mind that even if the treatment is effective, itching and other symptoms may persist for another 8-10 days. If at the end of this period the symptoms persist, you can apply the drug again.
When treating children and newborns, it is necessary to cover their nose and mouth with a napkin while spraying the drug; if diapers are changed, the entire breech area should be reapplied. If there are localized scratches on the face they shall be treated with a cotton swab moistened with Spregal.
Interaction
There are no known drug interactions with Spregal.
Special Instructions
Avoid getting Spregal on the face.
In case of accidental contact with the eyes, rinse them thoroughly with warm water One bottle of product is enough to treat three people.
To prevent secondary infection, it is recommended that beds and clothing be treated with the product.
Contraindications
Side effects
Topical reactions: a mild burning sensation may occur, which usually goes away quickly.
Overdose
There are currently no reported cases of overdose of Spregal.
Pregnancy use
Prenatal use of the drug is possible only when the estimated benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.
If it is necessary to use the drug during lactation, discontinue breastfeeding for the period of treatment.
