Slabicap, drops 7.5 mg/ml 10 ml

Laxacap is a laxative.

It reduces absorption of electrolytes and water, increases intestinal peristalsis.

The active form of the drug, formed by hydrolysis under the influence of intestinal microorganisms, directly excites the nervous structures of the intestinal wall, resulting in acceleration of movement of the intestinal contents.

The action occurs 10 – 12 hours after intake.

Pharmacokinetics

After oral administration, it is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is not subject to hepatic circulation.

Sodium picosulfate in terms of anhydrous – 750 mg,

excipients:

sorbitol (sorbitol),

propylene glycol,

water for injection – up to 100 ml

How to take, the dosage

Slabicap is administered orally, before going to bed.

In adults the initial dose is 10 drops, with persistent constipation – up to 30 drops. For children over 4 years old the initial dose is 5-8 drops. Depending on the effect obtained, the dose is increased or decreased during subsequent administration.

The drug should not be used daily for more than 10 days without medical supervision.

Interaction

There may be increased sensitivity to cardiac glycosides.

GCS and diuretics, when used simultaneously with Slabicap, increase the risk of electrolyte disturbances.

The broad-spectrum antibiotics decrease the laxative effect of Slabicap.

Special Instructions

It has no taste, so children can be added to food.

In children, use only when prescribed by a doctor.

Do not use daily without medical supervision for more than 10 days.

Contraindications

With caution: period of lactation.

Side effects

Overdose

Symptoms: Increased side effects are possible. In addition, in chronic overdose development of colonic mucosal ischemia, secondary hyperaldosteronism, urolithiasis, renal tubule damage is possible.

The treatment: gastric lavage, correction of water-electrolyte balance disorders, antispasmodic agents are prescribed.
