Pharmacological properties

Combined multivitamin with minerals. Selmevit ^® Intensive contains a complex of B vitamins and antioxidant complex. Compatibility of the components in 1 tablet is provided by a special technology of production of the drug.

The effects of Selmevit ^® Intensive are due to the effects of its constituent components:

α – Tocopherol acetate (vitamin E) – has a positive effect on the function of the sex glands, nervous and muscle tissue. It has strong antioxidant activity, protecting cell membranes and preventing the development of complications of diabetes.

Retinol acetate (vitamin A) – plays an important role in redox processes. It helps to increase the body’s defenses, is involved in the formation of visual pigments necessary for normal twilight and color vision, improves the process of epithelialization of tissues.

Thiamine hydrochloride (vitamin B ₁) plays an important role in carbohydrate and energy metabolism. It participates in the conduction of the nerve impulse and regeneration of nerve tissue. It acts as a neuroprotector in diseases with nerve cell damage (polyneuropathy of various etiologies).

Riboflavin (vitamin B₂) is an essential catalyst of cellular respiration and visual perception, participates in all types of metabolism, protects the retina from ultraviolet radiation.

Pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B₆) – is involved in protein metabolism and the synthesis of neurotransmitters. Provides the processes of inhibition in the CNS. It is essential for normal functioning of the central and peripheral nervous system. It has a neuroprotective effect in diabetes.

Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B ₁₂) – is involved in the synthesis of nucleotides and is an important factor in normal growth, hematopoiesis and development of epithelial cells. It has a beneficial effect on processes in the nervous system.

Nicotinamide (vitamin PP) is involved in the processes of tissue respiration, fat and carbohydrate metabolism, prevents the development of chronic fatigue syndrome.

Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) – regulates blood clotting, normalizes capillary permeability, anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effect. Enhances reparative processes, increases resistance to infection. Calcium pantothenate – accelerates the regeneration of epithelium and endothelium, improves energy supply of myocardial contractile function, and participates in the transmission of nerve impulses.

Rutoside – is involved in redox processes, has antioxidant properties, prevents oxidation and promotes the deposition of ascorbic acid in the tissues, reduces the permeability of blood vessels.

Folic acid – is involved in the synthesis of amino acids, nucleotides, nucleic acids, is necessary for normal erythropoiesis, improves the regeneration of damaged tissues.

Thioctic acid (lipoic acid) – is involved in the regulation of lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, improves liver function. Increases the interaction between insulin and receptors. Reduces lipid peroxidation in peripheral nerves.

Zinc is an immunostimulant, promotes the absorption of vitamin A, regeneration and hair growth, increases efficiency. It is necessary in the presence of diabetes or the risk of its development as part of the insulin molecule. It has an antioxidant effect, protects nerve cells and blood vessels of the microcirculatory system from damage.

Magnesium plays an important role in the regulation of neuromuscular activity, participates in the energy transformation of carbohydrates. Relieves symptoms of nervous tension: anxiety and irritability. It prevents muscle cramping, relieves vasospasm, has a vasodilator and antispasmodic action.

Selenium – in combination with vitamins A, E and C has antioxidant properties and improves the adaptation of the body under extreme conditions.

Phosphorus – is necessary for cellular energy metabolism and the functioning of muscle tissue (skeletal muscle and heart muscle).

The preparation provides a balanced supply of components necessary for maintaining optimum functioning of the body, and has a neuroprotective effect due to the complex influence of its constituent vitamins and minerals.

That is why the drug can be used in the treatment of neurological diseases and in remission periods in the maintenance therapy in the treatment of neuropathies. Components of the drug protect nerve cells from damage (in case of chronic fatigue syndrome, acute or chronic stress, polyneuropathies of various genesis).

Composition

1 film-coated tablet contains:

active ingredients:

Retinol acetate – 1 mg (2907 IU),

a-Tocopherol acetate – 15 mg,

Thiamine hydrochloride (vitamin B1) – 5 mg,

Riboflavin (vitamin B2) – 5 mg,

Pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) – 5 mg,

How to take, the dosage

Adults and children over 12 years of age orally, 1 tablet daily after meals. The duration of the course of treatment is up to 3 months. Repeated courses are possible on the doctor’s recommendation.

Interaction

It is not recommended simultaneous use with other multivitamin complexes containing vitamins A and E, B vitamins.

Special Instructions

Do not exceed the recommended dosage.

Yellow coloring of urine may occur due to the presence of riboflavin in the drug and is not dangerous.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles, machinery

The drug does not negatively affect the ability to drive vehicles and perform other potentially dangerous activities requiring increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions.

Contraindications

Overdose

When using the drug in the recommended doses, the likelihood of overdose is low.

Treatment: oral activated charcoal, gastric lavage, symptomatic treatment.
