Pharmacodynamics

Antimicrobial agent for topical and external use.

It has a broad spectrum of action, is active against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria (including antibiotic-resistant strains), yeast and mycelial (mold) fungi.

When used in therapeutic doses it has a bacteriostatic effect.

The mechanism of action is caused by inhibition of bacterial nuclease, disruption of cell membrane permeability, division membranes and change of nucleotide structure.

Pharmacokinetics

The action of the drug is the combined action of its components, so kinetic observations are not possible; all components together cannot be traced by markers or bioassays.

How to take, the dosage

Sangviritrin is used as an antimicrobial for external or local use for treatment and prevention in children (including newborns) and adults (including pregnant women during antenatal and postpartum period).

To treat the folds in newborns

In newborns the skin folds are treated with 0.2% water-alcohol solution of the drug 2 times a day during the first 5-6 days of life with a sterile cotton swab.

Treatment of periodontitis

It is performed after removal of dental deposits and scraping of pathological gingival pockets. Thin turundas soaked in 0.2% water-alcoholic or aqueous solution of Sangviritrin are inserted into the gingival pockets for 20 minutes. The procedure is repeated daily or every other day. The course of treatment is 4-6 procedures. To prepare an aqueous solution it is diluted 40 times (1 teaspoon per 200 ml of warm boiled water).

In case of stomatitis of various etiologies

Application of the drug solution 2-3 times a day for 2-5 days is carried out on the lesions of the oral mucosa. Children over 5 years of age are prescribed rinses with warm aqueous solution; at the age of under 5 years the oral mucosa is smeared with aqueous solution.

In case of sore throats

The tonsils are treated with 0.2% water-alcohol solution of Sangviritrin once a day for 2-5 days. In addition, adults and children over 5 years of age are prescribed to gargle with a warm aqueous solution daily 3-5 times/day. Children under 5 years of age are smeared with aqueous solution on the oral mucosa 3-4 times a day. Duration of treatment course is 3-7 days.

In case of otitis externa

To the ear canal turundas moistened with 0.2% water-alcoholic solution of Sangviritrin for 10-15 minutes 2-3 times a day are inserted. The minimum course of therapy is 2 weeks. In chronic purulent media otitis media the 0.2% water-alcohol solution of Sangviritrin is put into drops 5-8 drops for adults, 1-2 drops for children 3-4 times a day.

For prevention of purulent-inflammatory complications

The wound is treated daily with a sterile gauze swab profusely moistened with 0.2% water-alcohol solution of the drug, covered with a sterile cloth moistened with the solution, and a fixing dressing is applied. After 3-5 days the patient is treated with 0.2% water-alcohol solution of the drug and a dry sterile dressing is applied. The duration of the course of therapy is determined by the period of wound healing and in case of an uncomplicated course of the process it is 7-10 days.

For the treatment of burns, long non-healing wounds and ulcers, open infected fractures

Aqueous solution of Sangviritrin is used. Wounds and ulcers are washed with aqueous solution of the drug as well as dressings with the solution are applied to the wound surface. With infected burns dressings are made every other day, with other wounds daily 1-2 times/day. The duration of treatment depends on the nature and severity of the disease.

In case of endocervicitis, colpitis, vaginitis, cervical erosions

Sprinces, irrigations and lotions with warm water solution of Sangviritrin daily 1-2 times/day. The course of treatment is 5-10 procedures.

In pyodermia, superficial blastomycosis and dermatomycosis (including those complicated by mixed flora)

0.2% water-alcohol solution of Sangviritrin is prescribed as a dressing or lubrication of the lesion area daily 1-2 times/day. The duration of treatment is determined by the nature and severity of the disease.

Interaction

The simultaneous use of Sangviritrin with local anesthetic agents is possible.

Special Instructions

The drug should not be allowed to get into the eyes. If Sangviritrin comes into contact with the eyes, rinse them with plenty of water.

In cases of long-term non-healing wounds and ulcers, endocervicitis, colpitis, vaginitis, cervical erosions, pyodermia, superficial blastomycosis and dermatomycosis (including mixed flora). complicated by mixed flora) combined use of Sangviritrin solutions in combination with liniment (1% or 5%) is possible, which is prescribed in the form of dressings or lubrication of the lesion.

The use in liver disorders

It is contraindicated in liver diseases with impaired function.

The use in impaired renal function

Side effects

Allergic reactions: local manifestations (skin hyperemia).

When rinsing and smearing with aqueous solution of the drug on the mucous membranes of the oral cavity: a feeling of bitterness in the mouth.

When applying Sangviritrin to the wound surface: a brief burning sensation (in these cases, use the drug in lower concentrations).

Overdose

Symptoms: there may be increased side effects of the drug.

Treatment: if necessary, symptomatic therapy is carried out.
