Pharmacological properties::

It has anti-inflammatory antibacterial mucolytic effect.

Pharmacokinetic properties:

It is well absorbed in the small intestine. Maximum plasma concentration is reached 1-3 hours after drug administration. About 60% of the drug and its metabolites are excreted with the urine 5% – with the feces and about 2% – in the lungs. It may pass through the placental barrier; in the milk of lactating women.

Myrtol standardized 300 mg for a minimum content of: limonene 75mg, cineole 75mg, α-pinene 20mg

Additives:

Rapeseed oil

Capsule:

Gelatin, glycerol 85%, sorbitol, 13% hydrochloric acid solution

Auxiliary ingredients of the capsule shell:

Hypromellose acetate succinate, triethylcitrate, sodium lauryl sulfate, talc, dextrin, ammonium glycyrrhizinate.

How to take, the dosage

The drug is taken orally, in adults and children over 10 years old, half an hour before meals, with plenty of cool water.

In adults, 1 capsule 3 – 4 times a day is prescribed for acute inflammation, and 1 capsule 2 times a day for chronic inflammation. In order to facilitate phlegm discharge in the morning, an additional 1 capsule of the drug is taken before going to bed.

In children from 10 to 18 years of age in acute inflammation 1 capsule of the drug 2 times a day, in chronic patients – 1 capsule a day.

The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the symptoms and is determined by the physician.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles, mechanisms:

The use of the drug does not affect the ability to perform potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions (driving, operating moving machinery, work of dispatcher and operator).

The contents of the capsules is a clear colorless liquid with a characteristic odor.

Contraindications

Side effects

Allergic reactions (itching skin rash facial edema bronchial spasm) shortness of breath tachycardia dry mouth stomach pain flatulence diarrhea nausea vomiting increased mobility of kidney and gallbladder stones.

If any side effects occur after taking this medicine that are not listed in the instructions, you should tell your doctor right away.

Overdose

An accidental overdose may cause nausea, vomiting, convulsions in severe cases – coma or respiratory disorders. In rare cases after severe intoxication there may be disorders of the cardiovascular system.

Treatment: Vaseline oil in the amount of 3 ml per kilogram of body weight; gastric lavage with 5% solution of sodium bicarbonate (drinking soda); ventilation with oxygen.
