Pharmacodynamics
An antacid drug of local action. It contains calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, which provide fast and prolonged neutralization of excessive hydrochloric acid of gastric juice, thus providing a protective effect on the gastric mucosa.
The achievement of therapeutic effect within 3-5 minutes is due to the good solubility of the tablets and the high content of calcium.
Pharmacodynamics
Intake
As a result of interaction of Renny® with gastric juice in the stomach, soluble calcium and magnesium salts are formed. The level of absorption of calcium and magnesium from these compounds depends on the dose of the drug. The maximum level of absorption is 10% of calcium and 15-20% of magnesium.
Elimination
A small amount of absorbed calcium and magnesium is excreted by the kidneys. In the intestine, insoluble compounds are formed from soluble salts and excreted in the feces.
Pharmacokinetics in special clinical cases
In impaired renal function, plasma calcium and magnesium concentrations may increase.
Indications
Symptoms associated with increased acidity of gastric juice and reflux esophagitis (including those caused by errors in diet, medication, abuse of alcohol, coffee, nicotine): heartburn, belching, periodic pain in the stomach, a feeling of fullness or heaviness in the epigastric region, flatulence, dyspepsia, dyspepsia in pregnant women.
Pharmacological effect
Pharmacodynamics
Local antacid drug. Contains calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, which provide rapid and long-lasting neutralization of excess hydrochloric acid in gastric juice, thereby providing a protective effect on the gastric mucosa.
Achieving a therapeutic effect within 3-5 minutes is due to the good solubility of the tablets and high calcium content.
Pharmacodynamics
Suction
As a result of the interaction of Rennie® with gastric juice, soluble calcium and magnesium salts are formed in the stomach. The level of absorption of calcium and magnesium from these compounds depends on the dose of the drug. The maximum absorption level is 10% calcium and 15-20% magnesium.
Removal
A small amount of absorbed calcium and magnesium is excreted by the kidneys. In the intestines, insoluble compounds are formed from soluble salts, which are excreted in the feces.
Pharmacokinetics in special clinical situations
If renal function is impaired, plasma calcium and magnesium concentrations may increase.
Special instructions
Use for renal impairment
The drug is contraindicated in severe renal failure. Patients with impaired renal function are not recommended to take the drug for a long time in high doses. When prescribing the drug to patients with impaired renal function, the concentration of magnesium and calcium in the blood serum should be regularly monitored. Taking Rennie ® in high doses may increase the risk of kidney stones.
Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms that require increased concentration
The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and other activities that require high concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.
