Calciren can be used as part of complex therapy (or for prophylactic purposes) in case of insufficient intake of calcium and/or vitamin D3 from food, in case of increased demand of the body for calcium and vitamin D3, in injuries of musculoskeletal system, as well as part of a complex program of prevention of osteoporosis in women during menopause and in elderly people.

Interaction

The drugs for the treatment of osteoporosis can be roughly divided into antiresorptive drugs, which predominantly suppress bone resorption, and anabolic drugs, which predominantly increase bone formation.

According to clinical research, all osteoporosis medications are recommended to be prescribed in combination with calcium and vitamin D (GRADE A, level of evidence: 1) to increase treatment effectiveness.

The mineral density of bone tissue decreases with age, which can lead to osteoporosis and an increased risk of fractures. Osteoporosis in Russia is diagnosed in every third woman and every fourth man over 50 years of age, while more than 40% of both sexes have signs of osteopenia.1 Thus, it is estimated that 14 million people in Russia suffer from osteoporosis (10% of the population), and another 20 million have osteopenia. This means that 34 mln people in the country have a real risk of low energy (osteoporotic) fractures.
In order to prevent this and increase the mineral density of bone tissue it is necessary to use not only calcium and vitamin D, but also a complex of osteotropic minerals together with vitamin K, as they work in synergy and thus improve the absorption of calcium in the body.
