Reafferon EU Lipint is an antiviral and immunomodulatory drug, which is human recombinant interferon alpha-2b encapsulated in liposomes and lyophilically dried.

Indications

Comprehensive therapy of patients with acute hepatitis B, chronic hepatitis B in active and inactive replicative forms, as well as chronic hepatitis B complicated by glomerulonephritis.
Treatment of patients with atopic diseases, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, asthma during specific immunotherapy.
Prevention and treatment of flu and acute respiratory viral infections in adults and children.
An integrated therapy of urogenital chlamydial infections in adults.
An integrated therapy of febrile and meningeal forms of tick-borne encephalitis in adults.
Emergency prevention of tick-borne encephalitis in combination with antitick-borne immunoglobulin.

Composition

How to take, the dosage

The drug is intended for oral administration. Immediately before use, 1 to 2 ml of distilled or cooled boiled water is added to the contents of the bottle. When shaking for 1 to 5 minutes a homogeneous suspension should be formed.

In case of acute hepatitis B the preparation is taken 30 minutes before a meal with the following regimen: 1 million ME 2 times per day for 10 days in adults and children of school age; 500000 ME 1 time per day for 10 days in preschool children (from 3 to 7 years) or after controlled biochemical blood tests for a longer time (until complete clinical recovery).

In chronic hepatitis B in active and non-active replicative forms and also in chronic hepatitis B associated with glomerulonephritis the preparation is taken 30 min before meals according to the following regimen: 1 million ME 1 time per day for adults and school-aged children.ME twice a day for 10 days and then it should be given once a night every other day for 1 month; for preschool children (from 3 to 7 years): 500,000 ME twice a day for 10 days and then 500,000 ME once a night every other day for 1 month.

In case of specific immunotherapy the preparation is taken in the morning hours, 30 minutes after the meal, according to the following scheme: in cases of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis in adults 500000 ME daily during 10 days (course dose – 5 million ME); in cases of atopic bronchial asthma in adults – 500000 ME 1 time per day during 10 days, and then 500000 ME every other day during 20 days. The total duration of treatment is 30 days.

In flu and acute respiratory diseases prophylaxis the preparation is taken 30 minutes before meals; adults and children over 15 years old are prescribed 500000 ME 2 times a week for 1 month during the period of peak illness; children from 3 to 15 years old – 250000 ME 2 times a week for 1 month during the period of peak illness. In therapy of influenza and acute respiratory infections for adults and children over 15 years old – 500000 ME 2 times a day for 3 days; for children from 3 to 15 years old – 250000 ME 2 times a day for 3 days.

In combination therapy of urogenital infections in adults 500000 ME 2 times per day for 10 days.

Interaction

Interferon alfa-2b can decrease the activity of cytochrome P450 isoenzymes and, therefore, when used concomitantly, affect the metabolism of cimetidine, phenytoin, dipyridamole, theophylline, diazepam, propranolol, warfarin, some cytostatics.

The drug may increase the neurotoxic, myelotoxic or cardiotoxic effects of drugs previously prescribed or concomitantly with it.

Special Instructions

The solution of Referon-ES-Lipint should be prepared immediately before use.

In the course of treatment with Referon-ES-Lipint it is necessary to control systematically the function of bone marrow, liver, kidneys as well as regular neurological examination of patients.

In case of fever and headaches Reafferon-ES-Lipint is effective.

Contraindications

Side effects

When used as indicated in the recommended doses, the drug has no side effects.

However, taking into account that the recombinant interferon is the active ingredient of the drug which causes flue-like side effects when administered parenterally, one should be careful while prescribing the drug to people who are hypersensitive to interferon drugs.

Pregnancy use

Reafferon-ES-Lipint is contraindicated in pregnancy, lactation and children under 2 years of age.
