Prontosan gel for wounds, 30 ml

Healing of the wound surface can be delayed by the presence of exudate, films, crusts and scabs of dead tissue and cellular detritus and/or biofilms in the wound. These coatings are difficult to remove and create good conditions for pathogenic microflora to grow.
In addition, even apparently clean wounds, especially post-traumatic wounds, can be contaminated with microorganisms that can cause infectious complications in the wound.
Prontosan allows thorough cleaning of the wound surface, moisturizes the wound and suppresses bacterial flora, which creates conditions for faster wound healing. Thanks to its antibacterial component Prontosan can be successfully used for prevention of wound infection by pathogenic microorganisms and prevention of development of infectious complications in the wound.
Indications
Wound gel – for cleansing, moisturizing and decontamination:
Active ingredient
Composition
Active substances:
0.1% undecylene amidopropyl betaine;
0.1% polyaminopropyl biguanide (polyhexanide)
How to take, the dosage
The wound surface should be thoroughly rinsed and cleaned with Prontosan solution to remove foreign and necrotic tissue, exudate, surface films and crusts, fibrin and biofilm.
In order to reduce the risk of introducing germs into the wound, we recommend cleaning as much of the area around the wound as possible with Prontosan solution.
Gauze wipes or other types of dressings soaked in Prontosan solution can be used to clean and moisten the wound surface according to their instructions. Because of the relatively low water-holding capacity of the solution (unlike Prontosan gel), dressings should be applied at least once a day, and preferably several times a day.
In order to remove abundant accumulations of fibrin, thicker films, crusts, scabs, etc., it is recommended to continue treatment of the wound with Prontosan gel.
Wound irrigation with Prontosan solution should be performed at a frequency that is sufficient to completely remove all films and necrotic tissue and achieve optimal wound cleansing to accelerate healing or for subsequent surgical treatment.
For flushing large wound surfaces as well as wounds in hard-to-reach areas, treatment of the entire affected organ or part of the body with Prontosan solution for at least 15 minutes is recommended.
Prontosan solution can be heated to body temperature immediately prior to application
In order to remove thicker films, crusts and scabs, if there is abundant fibrin buildup, dense necrotic tissue, etc., we recommend continuing treatment of the wound with Prontosan gel.
The surface of the wound should be covered with a layer of gel at least 3 mm thick. Prontosan is applied to the wound or injected into the wound cavity. On top of the gel layer is covered with two or three sterile gauze cloths or other dressings. Prontosan should remain on the wound until the next dressing. Dressings are done daily. As the wound is cleared of necrotic tissues, dressings may be done every other day.
Depending on when the next dressing is scheduled, varying amounts of Prontosan gel may be applied, in a layer thickness of 3 to 5 mm. The application of the gel should be done at a frequency that will be sufficient to completely remove all films and necrotic tissue and achieve optimal wound cleansing to accelerate healing or for the subsequent surgical treatment phase.
Interaction
Prontosan should not be mixed and used with other disinfectants, ointments, oils, surfactants, enzymes, etc.
Special Instructions
Prontosan has no allergic and irritating properties, it is painless to apply to the wound surface, does not inhibit the development of granulation and does not interfere with the epithelialization of the wound.
In order to avoid reinfection of the wound surface, vials that have directly touched the wound surface should be discarded immediately after use.
Contraindications
Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Avoid contact with eyes and hyaline cartilages, in case of contact rinse thoroughly with saline solution.
