A broad spectrum anthelminthic drug. Causes neuromuscular blockade of sensitive helminthes. It is active against Enterobius vermicularis, Ascaris lumbriocoides, Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus, Trichostrongylus orientalis, Trichostrongylus colubriformis. It acts on both mature and immature individuals of both sexes, it does not act on larvae in migration stage.

Special instructions

In case of enterobiasis, simultaneous treatment of all persons living together should be carried out. After completion of treatment, it is necessary to conduct a control stool examination for the presence of parasite eggs. There are no data available regarding the effects on driving vehicles and servicing mechanical equipment.

Composition

Active substance:

Pyrantel pamoate 735 mg is equivalent to pyrantel base 250 mg.
Excipients:

Sorbic acid, sucrose, xanthan gum, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sorbitol 70% solution, polysorbate 80, chocolate flavor S 2761 (ingredients: propylene glycol, water, caramel colorant, natural, natural-identical and artificial aromatics), ice cream flavor (ingredients: propylene glycol, water, caramel colorant, natural, identical to natural and artificial aromatic substances), purified water.

Pregnancy

The use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) is possible only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to pyrantel;
myasthenia gravis (treatment period).

Prescribe with caution for liver failure and for children under 6 months.

Side Effects

From the gastrointestinal tract and liver: possible nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain; rarely – increased activity of liver transaminases.

From the side of the central nervous system: rarely – headache, dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, weakness; in some cases – hearing impairment, hallucinations, confusion, paresthesia.

Other: skin rash, increased body temperature.

Interaction

When used together with piperazine adipate, Pyrantel acts antagonistically (this combination is not recommended). Increases the concentration of theophylline in plasma.

Overdose

Currently, no cases of overdose have been reported. If necessary, carry out symptomatic therapy.

In a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25 oC.
Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life

3 years.
Do not use the drug after the expiration date indicated on the package.
