Pertussin syrup 100 g

Pertussin is a combined preparation of herbal origin.

The thyme herb has an expectorant effect, increases the amount of secretory discharge of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, helps to thin the phlegm and accelerate its excretion.

Potassium bromide reduces CNS excitability.

Indications

As an expectorant drug as part of complex therapy: acute respiratory infections, tracheitis, bronchitis; whooping cough.

Potassium bromide reduces the excitability of the central nervous system.

Special instructions

The absolute alcohol content in the maximum single dose for adults is up to 1.3 g, for children – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) – up to 0.43 g, 1 teaspoon (10 ml) – up to 0.86, in a daily dose for adults – up to 3.9 g.

The syrup contains sugar, which must be taken into account by patients with concomitant diabetes mellitus: 1 teaspoon (5 ml) contains approximately 0.22 XE.

During the treatment period, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Composition

100 g of syrup contain liquid thyme extract or liquid thyme extract 12 g,

potassium bromide 1 g,

sugar syrup 82 g,

ethyl alcohol 80% 5 g;

in bottles of 100 g.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, liver diseases, alcoholism, TBI, brain diseases, epilepsy, decompensated CHF, pregnancy, lactation, children (up to 3 years).

With caution. Diabetes mellitus, children over 3 years of age.

Side Effects

Allergic reactions, heartburn.

Interaction

Combined use with antitussive drugs leads to difficulty in sputum discharge while reducing cough.

Overdose

Symptoms: nausea.
Treatment: symptomatic.
