Special Instructions
Eye contact should be avoided. If shampoo gets into the eyes, rinse them with water. In combined long-term use with local GCS drug forms to prevent development of “withdrawal” syndrome it is recommended to use GCS in the morning and ketoconazole – in the evening, followed by gradual withdrawal of GCS for 2-3 weeks. There is no information about presence of any adverse effects in children. Efficacy and safety of usage in children has not been established.
Synopsis
Perchotal is an antifungal drug active against dermatophytes, yeasts, dimorphic fungi and eumycetes. It is also active against staphylococci and streptococci. The mechanism of action is inhibition of ergosterol synthesis of fungi. It prevents transformation of Candida albicans blastospores into invasive forms.
Contraindications
High sensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy, lactation.
Assignments
Fungal infections caused by sensitive pathogens: dermatomycosis (dermatomycosis of smooth skin, inguinal epidermophytosis, epidermophytosis of hands and feet, candidiasis of skin, pityrosporum lichen, seborrheic dermatitis caused by Pityrosporum ovale, onychomycosis), folliculitis. For shampoo application: moldy mycoses, mycoses of hair, pityrosporum lichen, seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff.
