Synopsis

A complete and balanced diet made on the basis of peptides.

The composition ensures optimal tolerance, absorption and assimilation. All ingredients in the formula have been selected to ensure its tolerability in patients with gastrointestinal disorders.

The protein composition consists of whey protein hydrolysate. Whey protein peptides are an excellent source of nitrogen. They have been proven to be well absorbed and assimilated in patients with serious GI diseases such as short bowel syndrome and pancreatitis.

Low osmolality. The Peptamen mixture is isotonic or low osmolality, which makes it well tolerated by patients.

High ratio of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) and low ratio of long-chain triglycerides (LCTs). The high SCT:DTT ratio makes the blend an easily digestible energy source and is well tolerated by patients with intestinal absorption disorders such as those with cystic fibrosis and pancreatitis. In addition, this composition of fats minimizes the harmful contribution of inflammatory n-6 fatty acids.

The blend is rich in cysteine. The high cysteine content promotes the synthesis of glutathione, which has antioxidant activity.
