Indications

Nonspecific ulcerative colitis; Crohn’s disease.

Special instructions

In some cases of an allergic reaction to sulfasalazine, it is possible to develop intolerance to Pentasa (risk of allergy to salicylates).

mesalazine1000 mg;

Excipients:

povidone;

macrogol 6000;

magnesium stearate;

talc.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is prescribed only in cases where the positive effect outweighs the risk of developing possible side effects.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity (including to salicylates or other components of the drug); severe dysfunction of the liver and kidneys.

Side Effects

Feeling of discomfort in the abdomen, nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhea, skin rash in the form of urticaria or eczema;

very rarely – muscle and joint pain, temporary hair loss, liver and kidney dysfunction, pericarditis, myocarditis, pancreatitis, changes in the blood count (leukopenia, granulocytopenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia).
