Oksolin, ointment 0.25% 10 g

Antiviral agent for external use. It has a virulicidal effect on the influenza virus in direct contact with the virus-containing material, prevents the reproduction of the virus in cells.

In the dosage forms used when applied to the skin (intact or scarified) ointments and mucous membranes does not have a resorptive toxic and local irritant effect.

Indications

For external use: treatment of warts (common, flat and acute condyloma).

For nasal use: prevention of flu, treatment of viral rhinitis.

Active ingredient

Composition

Active ingredient: dioxotetrahydroxytetrahydronaphthalene (oxolin) – 250 mg

Auxiliary substances: liquid paraffin – 500 mg, Vaseline – up to 100 g.

How to take, the dosage

Treatment of warts (including acute condyloma): smear their surface 2-3 times a day for 2 weeks to 2 months, to increase the effect after applying the ointment is applied occlusive dressing with wax paper.

For flu prevention it is applied daily 2-3 times a day to the nasal mucosa during the period of flu epidemic growth and maximum development (within 25 days) or in case of contact with a flu patient.

Treatment of viral rhinitis: nasal mucosa is lubricated 2-3 times a day for 3-4 days.

Contraindications

– individual intolerance to the drug and its components.

Side effects

In external use: possible burning sensation, dermatitis, washable blue staining.

In nasal use: possible burning sensation in the nose, rhinorrhea, washable blue staining.
