Antinoconstrictor – vasoconstrictor (alpha-adrenomimetic).
Pharmic action:
Octilia is a vasoconstrictor drug for local use in ophthalmology. Tetrizolin hydrochloride is an alpha-adrenomimetic, imidazole derivative.
It has a pronounced vasoconstrictor effect, reduces edema and hyperemia of mucous membranes.
Chamomile and linden extracts have an anti-inflammatory effect.
Indications
As part of complex therapy in the treatment of eye diseases accompanied by symptoms of irritation caused by allergic, chemical and physical factors (smoke, dust, strong light, light reflection from snow and water surfaces, from the emitting screens of monitors).

How to take, the dosage
Conjunctival. 1-2 drops 2-3 times a day.
Interaction
No drug interactions have been described for Octilium.
The drug should not be used concomitantly with MAO inhibitors and within 10 days after stopping their administration.
Special Instructions
The drug should not be used continuously for more than 4 days without consulting an ophthalmologist. If symptoms persist or become more severe within 2 days, consultation with an ophthalmologist is necessary.
The dosing regimen of the drug is recommended.
The drug should be kept out of the reach of children, because if it is accidentally swallowed, the systemic action of the drug may occur.
Patients who wear contact lenses should remove them before using Octilia and put them back on only 15 minutes after dosing.
Contraindications
. Caution should be exercised when the drug is prescribed in high blood pressure, CHD, arrhythmias, aneurysms, severe organic heart and vascular diseases, hyperthyroidism, pheochromocytoma, diabetes, during treatment with MAO inhibitors and other drugs that increase BP, antidepressants, pregnancy and during lactation (breastfeeding).
Side effects
Local reactions: mydriasis, increased intraocular pressure, burning sensation, reactive conjunctival hyperemia.
Systemic reactions: headache, nausea, drowsiness, weakness, tremor, dizziness, insomnia, palpitations, tachycardia, hyperglycemia, increased BP, heart disturbances, allergic reactions.
Overdose
Symptoms: cyanosis, fever, seizures, arrhythmias, cardiac arrest, increased BP, pulmonary edema, dyspnea, CNS depression accompanied by somnolence, hypothermia, bradycardia, collapse, apnea and coma.
Please note that the risk of overdose is high in young children, especially if swallowed.
Treatment: the antidote is unknown. Activated charcoal, gastric lavage, oxygen inhalation, antipyretic and antiepileptic drugs are prescribed.
Phentolamine is prescribed to decrease BP in a dose of 5 mg slowly IV or 100 mg orally.
Pregnancy use
Caution should be exercised when prescribing Oculia in pregnancy and during lactation (breastfeeding).
Pediatric use
The drug is contraindicated in children under 3 years of age.
