Nutrizon Energy is a liquid balanced sterile ready-to-use enteral nutrition that meets the nutritional needs of patients with severe metabolic disorders, increased energy and protein requirements or with restricted fluid intake, for whom natural nutrition is impossible or insufficient. The main advantage of Nutrizone Energy – increased content of protein, energy, vitamins, trace elements and essential substances, which allows to give the patient in a smaller amount adequate to his needs of the required nutrients. This is especially true for patients with severe malnutrition and for patients who need to limit the administered fluid (cardiovascular failure, renal failure, hypoalbuminemia, etc.). The indication for the use of Nutrizone Energy is a condition of hypermetabolism hypercatabolic.

The clinical effectiveness of the drug Nutrizon Energy is determined by the characteristics of its protein, fat, carbohydrate, vitamin, trace element composition and emulsion form.

Energy. High energy content in a small volume of the product – 1.5 kcal/1 ml, which is especially good for patients with increased energy requirements or for patients who require restriction of fluid intake.

Protein is a milk protein (100% casein). It contains essential amino acids. Protein content in Nutrizone Energy 6g/100ml is 1.5 times higher than in similar standard products. This distinguishes Nutrizon Energy especially for use in the practice of abdominal surgery, intensive care, oncology, when the patient who is hypercatabolic, it is necessary to give a larger amount of protein in a small volume of product.

The fats are represented only by vegetable fats, which are easily digested and digestible. The ratio of GI n6/n3 = 5/1. It contains essential fatty acids.
Carbohydrates are represented by maltodextrins which are easily digested and absorbed even in case of villous atrophy. Nutrizon Energy contains no lactose, so it can be used in patients with lactase deficiency.

Nutrizon Energy can be used as the sole source of nutrition for an indefinite period of time or as a supplementary source of nutrition.
Nutrizon Energy can be used for enteral feeding by insertion into the nasogastric or nasojejunal tube, gastro- or jejunostomy as well as for oral administration.
There is no risk of vitamin and micronutrient deficiencies during prolonged use of tube feeding. Also an important advantage of Nutrizone Energy is the sterility of the ready-to-use mixture which reduces the risk of exogenous microbial contamination many times over.

Composition

Water, maltodextrin, milk protein, vegetable oils, lecithin, potassium dihydrophosphate, magnesium chloride, acidity regulator (citric acid), sodium chloride, potassium citrate, magnesium phosphate, calcium hydroxide, choline, potassium hydroxide, carotenoids, sodium L-ascorbate, iron lactate, zinc sulfate, niacinamide, Retinol acetate, alpha-tocopherol acetate, copper gluconate, manganese sulfate, calcium D-pantothenate, cholecalciferol, thiamine hydrochloride, folic acid, pyridoxine hydrochloride, cyancobalamin, riboflavin, sodium fluoride, phytomenadione, chromium chloride, sodium molybdate, potassium iodide, sodium selenite, D-biotin.

Directions for use

It is recommended that it be warmed to room temperature before use. Make sure the package is intact and within the expiration date, shake, unscrew the cap and connect to the conductor (see diagram in the package leaflet). The dosage and speed of administration is calculated by the doctor. 1,500 to 2,000 ml provide the daily nutritional requirements of an adult. The infusion rate is 0.25-1.5 ml/kg/hr.

Contraindications

Age from 0 to 12 months. Galactosemia. Conditions in which any enteral feeding is contraindicated.
