How to take, the dosage
Orally, during or immediately after a meal, without chewing, with a small amount of liquid.
Interaction
Reduces the effectiveness of oral hypoglycemic drugs, tricyclic antidepressants, anticoagulants.
Special Instructions
Since the effect of Normatens develops relatively slowly, the dosage should not be increased more often than once a week, due to the possibility of a pronounced decrease in BP; special care should be taken in case of combined use with other antihypertensive agents; during treatment, periodically monitor BP levels to determine the optimal dosing regimen.

- High sensitivity to any of the ingredients.
- Depression

- Companied by electroconvulsive therapy.
- Pheochromocytoma.
- Co-treatment with monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors.
- Gastric and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase.
- Erosive gastritis.
- Nonspecific ulcerative colitis.
- Stenocardia.
- Last seen myocardial infarction.
- Chronic heart failure.
- Veep bradycardia.
- Atrioventricular block.
- Intraventricular block.
- Severe renal failure (CK below 30 ml/min).
- Nephritis.
- Uremia.
- Nephrosclerosis.
- Arterial hypotension.
- Severe cerebral atherosclerosis.
- Severe hepatic dysfunction.
- Addison’s disease.
- Hypokalemia.
- Hyponatremia.

Side effects
Digestive system: diarrhea, dry mouth, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, aggravation of peptic ulcer disease, decreased appetite. Rarely – ulceration of the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum, gastrointestinal bleeding when using Reservin at a dose above 1 mg/day (the amount contained in 10 tablets of Normatense).
Overdose
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle weakness, dizziness, headache, marked BP decrease, bradycardia, arrhythmias, depression, hyporeflexia, confusion and coma.
Pregnancy use
Since reserpine has teratogenic effect, it is not recommended to use Normatense during pregnancy.
