Naphtisin, spray 0.1% 15 ml

Naphtisin stimulates alpha2-adrenoreceptors, narrows nasal mucosa vessels, reduces swelling, hyperemia, exudation of the mucous membrane. Facilitates nasal breathing in rhinitis.

1 ml of the solution contains:

The active ingredient: naphazoline nitrate 1 mg;

Auxiliary substances: boric acid, purified water.

How to take, the dosage

Interaction

Do not combine with MAO inhibitors (after termination of their use the drug should not be administered earlier than 14 days).

Longens the effect of local anesthetics used for surface anesthesia.

Special Instructions

It is not recommended for chronic rhinitis.

In long-term use it should be taken into account that the vasoconstrictor effect gradually decreases (phenomenon of tachyphylaxis), so after 5-7 days of use it is recommended to take a break for a few days.

Contraindications

Side effects

Reactions caused by the local action of the drug: mucous membrane irritation, reactive hyperemia, when used for more than 1 week – mucous membrane edema, atrophic rhinitis.

Reactions caused by the systemic action of the drug: nausea, headache; in some cases in predisposed patients – increase in BP, tachycardia.

Overdose

Symptoms: decreased body temperature, bradycardia, increased blood pressure.

Treatment: symptomatic.
