Mycosone, 2% cream 15 g

Mycozone is an antifungal agent that inhibits the synthesis of the cell membrane ergosterol.

It is active against dermatophytes, yeasts and some other fungi.

It shows antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive microorganisms.

It does not change the composition of the microflora and pH of the vagina. It quickly eliminates the itching that usually accompanies fungal infections.

Indications

Dermatomycosis caused by fungi sensitive to the drug (including secondary infection with Gram-positive microorganisms); onychomycosis.

Composition

Active ingredients:

Omoconazole nitrate 20 mg.

How to take, the dosage

Externally.

The cream is applied twice a day to the affected area with gentle rubbing movements.

The treatment is continued until symptoms have completely disappeared and for the next few days to prevent a recurrence.

Interaction

It potentiates the effect of indirect anticoagulants, oral hypoglycemic drugs, phenytoin.

Special Instructions

The simultaneous treatment of both sexual partners is necessary. During pregnancy vaginal use of the drug (vaginal suppositories, capsules) is possible only in the first trimester.

The cream when applied topically is not absorbed and may be used during pregnancy and lactation. It should not come into contact with the eyes.

To keep nails as short as possible. If feet are affected, the interdigital spaces between the toes should be carefully treated.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, pregnancy (II-III trimesters – for the use of vaginal forms), hepatic and/or renal failure, children under 12 years of age (for vaginal forms).

With caution:

Diabetes mellitus, microcirculatory disorders.

Side effects

When used externally rarely – skin reactions.

When using the vaginal cream – allergic reactions. Using the cream in excessive amounts – skin irritation, itching, burning sensation (usually disappears when therapy is stopped).
