The flowers of the marigold have antiseptic (disinfectant) and anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic effects.

Indications

Externally, infusion of marigold flowers is used for gargling as an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic agent in inflammatory diseases of the mouth (gingivitis, stomatitis, periodontitis).

Sometimes used internally as a choleretic.

2 filter packs (3 g) was placed in a glass or enamel bowl, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover and infuse for 30 minutes, pressing down on the bags with a spoon from time to time, then they squeeze.

The volume of the resulting infusion bring boiled water to 100 ml.

For mouth and throat rinses 1/2-1 cup of infusion 3-5 times a day in a warm form.

On the inside take 1-2 tablespoons 2-3 times a day before meals.

Preferably, the infusion should be shaken before use.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug, acute gastritis, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer during exacerbation.

In oral administration – children under 12 years of age.

Side effects

Allergic reactions are possible.

When taken orally a bitter feeling in the mouth, a burning sensation in the epigastric region, abdominal pain may occur.
