Methylergobrevin, 200 µg/ml 1 ml 50 pcs

Methylergobrevin is an uterotonizing agent.

It increases the tone of the myometrium, helps to stop uterine bleeding.

Indications

Second period of labor, atonic uterine bleeding, uterine subinvolution, lochyometra.

How to take, the dosage

Intravenously, intramuscularly.

The doses of Methylergobrevin are determined according to the indication.

Atonic uterine bleeding: 0.1 mg (0.5 ml) w/v or 0.2 mg (1 ml) w/v, if necessary injections can be repeated at 2 h intervals.

Metrorrhagia: 0.1-0.2 mg v/m or 0.1 mg v/v.

Cesarean section. The drug is administered after extraction of the fetus: 0.05-0.1 mg w/v or 0.2 mg w/v.

Abortion. It is administered after dilation of the cervical canal: in 0.1-0.2 mg. In spontaneous abortions, 0.05-0.1 mg is indicated by IV administration.

Partum: With close supervision of the obstetrician, to shorten the second period of labor, administer 0.1-0.2 mg of Methylergobrevin by IV injection only after the fetal head or forearm has emerged.

If labor is managed under general anesthesia, 0.2 mg of Methylergobrevin is recommended. If IV administration of the drug is not possible, it is administered in a 0.2-0.4 mg dose.

Interaction

It enhances vasoconstrictor and vasopressor effects of sympathomimetics and ergotamine, increases the effect of oxytocin.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, severe hypertension, occlusive vascular disease, sepsis, pregnancy, first period of labor.

Side effects

Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, increased sweating, dizziness, headache, increased BP, bradycardia or tachycardia, peripheral vasospasm, decreased milk secretion, allergic reactions (skin rash), anaphylactic shock.
