Levomenthol when applied to the skin irritates the nerve endings, dilates the surface vessels of the skin, causing a feeling of coolness, accompanied by analgesic effect and relief of itching. It enhances anesthetic effect of procaine and benzocaine.

Procaine is a local anesthetic with moderate anesthetic activity. It blocks sodium channels, prevents generation of impulses in the endings of sensitive nerves and impulse conduction along the nerve fibers.

Benzocaine is a local anesthetic for surface anesthesia. It prevents the occurrence of pain impulses in the endings of sensitive nerves and their conduction along the nerve fibers.

Composition

Active ingredients:

levomenthol 2.5 g,

procaine (novocaine) 1.0 g,

benzocaine (anesthesin) 1.0 g;

excipient: ethanol (ethyl alcohol) 70% up to 100 ml.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug, violation of the integrity of the skin or inflammatory skin diseases at the site of intended application (including dermatitis, eczema), pregnancy, children under 18 years of age.

Side Effects

Allergic reactions, contact dermatitis. With prolonged use, dizziness, general weakness, and decreased blood pressure are possible. In these cases, stop using the drug.
