Macmiror complex 500 is an antimicrobial drug for topical use. It has antiprotozoal, antifungal and antibacterial effects.

Nifuratel, a derivative of nitrofuran. It is highly active against a number of bacteria, fungi and protozoa (including Trichomonas vaginalis).

Nistatin is an antifungal antibiotic of polyene group. Binding with sterols in the cell membrane of fungi it breaks its permeability, which leads to cell death. It is highly active against fungi of the genus Candida albicans.

The combination of nifuratel and nystatin allows to achieve a more pronounced antifungal effect and significantly broaden the spectrum of antimicrobial action.

The high efficacy and low toxicity of the components of the drug have led to a wide spectrum of its clinical use in the treatment of vaginitis of mixed etiology, particularly its use for the prevention of mycoses caused by specific treatment of trichomoniasis.

Macmiror complex does not disrupt the physiological flora, which avoids the development of dysbacteriosis and quickly restores the normocenosis of the vagina.

Indications

Complex therapy of vulvovaginal infections caused by pathogens sensitive to the drug: bacteria, trichomonads, Candida fungi and chlamydia.

Composition

Active substances:

Nifuratel 500 mg;

Nistatin 200,000 IU;

Supplementary substances:

dimethylpolysiloxane AK1000 (dimethicone);

Capsule composition:

gelatin;

glycerin (glycerol);

ethyl parahydroxybenzoate sodium;

propylparahydroxybenzoate sodium;

titanium dioxide;

iron oxide yellow;

How to take, the dosage

Intravaginally, before going to bed – for 8 days, 1 suppository or 2.5 g of cream 1-2 times a day (using an applicator). If necessary, the treatment is repeated after menstruation.

In order to achieve maximum therapeutic effect, the suppository should be placed in the upper part of the vagina.

The suppositories are not used for the treatment in children, it is recommended to use vaginal cream complete with an applicator (graduated syringe).

Special Instructions

It is necessary to treat the sexual partner at the same time because of the risk of reinfection. Sexual intercourse should be avoided during treatment with the drug.

To use the graduated applicator: Screw the graduated applicator onto the tube of cream. Press down on the tube to apply the desired amount of cream (according to the scale lines indicating the amount in grams). Remove from the tube, insert into the vagina, squeeze out the contents while pressing on the rod.

The special nozzle allows the cream to be introduced without damaging the hymen. This requires removing the cannula from the top of the rod and screwing it onto the head of the syringe from the opposite side before injecting the cream into the vagina.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to one of the active ingredients or any of the excipients of the drug.

Side effects

In rare cases, allergic reactions in the form of skin rashes or itching may occur.
