Pharmacodynamics
Ketoconazole, an imidazoldioxolan derivative, is a synthetic broad-spectrum antifungal agent for topical use. It has fungicidal and fungistatic effect against dermatophytes (Trichophyton spp., Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum spp yeast and yeast-like fungi (Candida spp., Pityrosporum spp., tremorfungi and eumycetes). The drug is active against staphylococci and streptococci.
The mechanism of action is inhibition of ergosterol biosynthesis and changes in the lipid composition of the fungal membrane.
Pharmacokinetics
Systemic absorption with intravaginal use is negligible.
Indications
Treatment of acute and chronic recurrent vaginal candidiasis.
Prevention of vaginal fungal infections with low resistance and against the background of treatment with antibacterial agents and other drugs that disrupt the normal vaginal microflora.

Composition
One vaginal suppository contains:
the active ingredient:ketoconazole – 400 mg;

How to take, the dosage
Pre-release the suppository from the contour pack and insert it deep into the vagina in the supine position for 1 suppository per day for 3-5 days depending on the course of the disease.
In chronic candidiasis 1 suppository is used for 10 days.
Do not stop the treatment alone even if you have no symptoms, as unfinished treatment may cause the disease to become chronic.

Interaction
