Licorice, ground roots 50 g

In the complex therapy of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (mainly in the presence of hard, thick and viscous secretion);

Hyperacid gastritis, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer (in the complex therapy).

Active ingredient

Composition

Licorice roots.

The roots contain glycyrrhizic acid,

liquorazide,

liquiritoside,

flavonoids,

mucilage and other biologically active substances.

How to take, the dosage

About 8 g (2 tablespoons) of roots are placed in an enamel bowl, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of cooled boiled water, cover and heat on a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, cool at room temperature for 10 minutes, strain, squeeze the remaining raw material.

The volume of the resulting broth was adjusted with boiled water to 200 ml.

It is taken internally: adults and children over 12 years – 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day, children from 5 to 12 years – 1 dessert spoon 3-4 times a day, children from 3 to 5 years – 1 dessert spoon 2-3 times a day, children from 1 year to 3 years – 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day.

The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks.

Before using the decoction is recommended to shake.

Interaction

The simultaneous administration of other drugs used in the treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases is possible.

Do not use concomitantly with drugs containing codeine and other anti-cough drugs, since this makes it difficult to expectorate liquefied sputum.

Special Instructions

Physician should be consulted before using the drug.

To avoid overdose, it is recommended to follow the dosing regimen of the drug.

The drug does not affect the ability to perform potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions (including driving vehicles and operating moving machinery).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the preparations of licorice;

Bronchial asthma, gastritis, peptic ulcer in the acute phase, pregnancy, breast-feeding, children under 1 year.

Side effects

Allergic reactions are possible; in some cases dyspepsic phenomena (diarrhea) may be observed.

Overdose

In prolonged use in doses exceeding the recommended ones, blood pressure may increase, hypokalemia, peripheral edema due to impaired water-salt metabolism may occur.
