Interacts with free radicals in the liver and converts them into less toxic compounds, interrupting the process of lipid peroxidation, prevents the destruction of cellular structures.

In damaged hepatocytes it stimulates the synthesis of structural and functional proteins and phospholipids (by specific stimulation of RNA-polymerase A), stabilizes cell membranes, prevents the loss of cell components (transaminases), accelerates regeneration of liver cells.

Inhibits cell penetration of some hepatotoxic substances.

Pharmacokinetics.

Absorption is low and slow (half-absorption period is 2.2 hours), metabolized in the liver by conjugation, elimination half-life is 6 hours. It is excreted mainly with bile in the form of glucuronides and sulfates. It does not accumulate in the body. Intestinal-hepatic circulation is noted.

The active ingredient: milk thistle fruit extract dry (36-44:1) – 86.5-93.35 mg, equivalent to 70 mg silymarin (DNFG), equivalent to 54.1 mg silymarin (HPLC/Herm.F.) per silybinin.

Excipients: polysorbate 80, povidone, mannitol, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A), magnesium stearate.

The shell: hard gelatin capsule, size “2”, which includes: gelatin, iron oxide red dye (E172), titanium dioxide (E171), sodium lauryl sulfate, iron oxide black dye (E172).
