Laxigal, drops 7.5 mg/ml 10 ml

Laxigal is a laxative.

The active form of the drug formed by hydrolysis under the influence of intestinal microorganisms directly excites the nervous structures of the intestinal wall, resulting in accelerated progression of intestinal contents, reduced absorption of electrolytes and water.

The action occurs 10-12 hours after intake.

Pharmacokinetics

After oral administration is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is not subject to hepatic-intestinal circulation.

Composition

Active ingredient:

Sodium picosulfate monohydrate (in terms of 100% substance) 7.5 mg;

Auxiliary substances:

sorbitol liquid 70% uncrystallized – 680 mg;

sodium ethyl parahydroxybenzoate – 0.66 mg;

Hydrochloric acid 35% – up to the required amount;

water up to – 1 ml

How to take, the dosage

Ingestion, before bedtime, diluted in a small amount of water.

Adults and children over 10 years of age take 12-24 drops (5-10 mg).

In children from 4 to 10 years of age, 6-12 drops (2.5-5 mg).

Depending on the effect, the dose is increased or decreased in subsequent doses.

Interaction

An increased sensitivity to cardiac glycosides is possible.

GCS, diuretics increase the risk of electrolyte disturbances.

The broad-spectrum antibiotics decrease the laxative effect.

Contraindications

With caution: period of lactation.

Side effects

Possible: diarrhea, abdominal pain, dehydration, water-electrolyte imbalance, weakness, seizures, decreased blood pressure.

Overdose

Symptoms: in chronic overdose development of colonic mucosal ischemia, secondary hyperaldosteronism, urolithiasis, renal tubule damage is possible.

Treatment: gastric lavage, correction of water-electrolyte balance disorders, antispasmodic agents.
