Laminaria Layers (Seaweed) – laxative effect is due to the ability of the drug to swell and, increasing in volume, cause irritation of the receptors in the intestinal mucosa.

Indications
Used as a laxative for chronic atonic constipation (including in patients with hyperlipidemia).

Laminaria thallus (seaweed).
Thallus contains high molecular weight polysaccharides,
iodide and bromide salts,
mannitol,
alginic acid,
alginates,
ascorbic acid and other biologically active substances.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity (including to iodine), nephritis, nephrosis, hemorrhagic diathesis, furunculosis, acne, chronic pyoderma.
Intestinal obstruction, acute abdominal syndrome, appendicitis and other inflammatory processes in the abdominal cavity, acute febrile conditions.
Pregnancy.
Side Effects
With prolonged use and increased sensitivity to iodine, symptoms of iodism are possible (runny nose, urticaria, Quincke’s edema, salivation, lacrimation, acne on the skin, etc.).
