Ledibon is a gestagenic agent, it also has anabolic, weak androgenic and estrogenic activity, and helps to reduce the secretion of gonadotropic hormones. Inhibits bone resorption in the postmenopausal period, reduces the concentration of phosphate and calcium in the blood serum, mitigates such manifestations of menopausal syndrome as “rushes” of blood to the face, increased sweating, headaches.

Positive effects on libido and mood (increases the concentration of central and peripheral opioids).
Has a trophic effect on the vaginal mucosa without stimulating endometrial proliferation.

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption is high. It is metabolized in liver with formation of hydrophilic products, part of which are pharmacologically active. It is excreted by the kidneys (including metabolites) and through the intestines.

Menopause (natural and surgical), Osteoporosis in estrogen deficiency (prevention).

How to take, the dosage

One tablet should be taken daily. Dose adjustments are not necessary in elderly patients. Tablets should be swallowed with water or drinks, preferably at the same time of the day. Minimum duration of treatment is 3 months.

The drug is started 1 year after the last menstrual period or immediately after surgical menopause.

Start taking pills from the top, framed row, first take the one marked with the corresponding day of the week. On the following days, take 1 tablet a day in the direction of the arrow until the entire pack is taken.

Missing a pill

If the missed pill is less than 12 hours from the scheduled time, the missed pill must be taken, followed by taking the remaining pills at the usual scheduled time. If, however, more than 12 hours have elapsed since the scheduled pill time, the missed pill should be skipped, but the remaining pills should be taken at the usual scheduled time.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, hormone-dependent tumors (or suspected), vaginal bleeding of unclear etiology, thrombophlebitis and thromboembolism (including history), severe hepatic impairment, cardiovascular insufficiency, cerebrovascular disorders; otosclerosis due to pregnancy or steroid treatment;

less than 1 year after last menstruation, untreated endometrial hyperplasia, porphyria, pregnancy, breast-feeding.

Side effects

Nervous system and sensory organs: headache, dizziness, visual disturbances, depression.

Gastrointestinal system disorders: nausea, diarrhea, increased liver transaminase activity.

Treatment of the genitourinary system: metrorrhagia, endometrial proliferation.

Others: swelling of the shins, pain in the back, arms and legs, weight changes, increased facial hair growth, skin itching, rash, seborrheic dermatitis.

Overdose

Symptoms: gastrointestinal dysfunction.

Treatment: symptomatic.
