The Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteriophage (Klebsifag) is an immunobiological preparation.

It has the ability to specifically lyse Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria.

It is intended for treatment of purulent-septic and enteric diseases caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria: surgical infections, urogenital diseases, gastrointestinal tract, purulent inflammatory diseases of ear, throat, nose, respiratory and lungs, generalized septic diseases, purulent-septic diseases of newborns.

The drug is a phagolysate filtrate active against Klebsiella pneumoniae.

How to take, the dosage

The dose of Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsifagus), the method of administration and duration of use is determined by the attending physician depending on the disease.

The use of the drug does not exclude the use of other antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs.
In the treatment of respiratory tract and lung diseases Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsifag) is used in the form of aerosols, as well as using the oral route of administration.

In the treatment of other diseases Bacteriophage Klebsiophage pneumoniae (Klebsifag) is used topically in the form of irrigations, lotions as well as for injection into the cavities of wounds, abscesses, abdominal, pleural, urinary bladder, uterus, sinuses, middle ear.
Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsifag) is used by mouth and as high enemas in the treatment of gastroenterocolitis, cholecystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, mastitis, generalized septic diseases.

Therapeutic dosage of Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsifagus) is 0.3-3 ml per 1 kg body weight (10-200 ml). The drug is used 1-3 times a day for 7-20 days. It is possible to prolong the course of treatment (up to 40 days for clinical indications) and conduct repeated courses.

In case of abscesses after autopsy and removal of purulent content Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsifag) is administered in an amount less than the volume of pus removed.

In case of osteomyelitis Bacteriophage Klebsifagus pneumoniae (Klebsifagus) is injected into the wound cavity through turundas, drains in an amount of 25-50 ml.

In peritonitis, pleurisy Bacteriophage Klebsifagus pneumoniae (Klebsifagus) is administered through the cavity drainage in the amount of 20 -200 ml of the drug once daily.

In cystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis Bacteriophage Klebsifagus pneumoniae (Klebsifagus) is administered through a catheter in the amount of 20-30 ml once daily, and also taken by mouth in the dose of 20 ml. 3 times a day.

In purulent inflammatory gynecological diseases, 5-10 ml daily once in the vaginal or uterine cavity.
In the treatment of suppuration, wounds Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsifag) is used in the form of irrigation, applications, dressings, administration through drainage.

In purulent inflammatory diseases of the ear, throat and nose Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsifag) is injected into the middle ear, nose, sinuses at a dose of 2-10 ml 1-Z times a day.

In case of Klebsiellosis enterocolitis and also in treatment of dysbacteriosis Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsifag) is used orally in dose 5-20 ml 3 times a day during 10-15 days. It is possible to combine double oral with single administration of the drug in the form of a high enema.

Application of Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsiphage) in children under 6 months old in sepsis and enterocolitis of newborns including premature infants: bacteriophage is used in form of high enemas in dose 3-5 ml 2-Z times daily. In the absence of vomiting and regurgitation, oral administration of the drug is possible. In this case it is mixed with breast milk. A combination of rectal and oral administration of the drug is possible: rectally in the morning and in the evening, orally during the day. The course of treatment is 5-15 days.

In the treatment of omphalitis, pyodermia, infected wounds Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsifag) is used in the form of applications, daily, twice.

Special Instructions

The vials and ampoules are opened and the drug is administered in strict compliance with the rules of antisepsis.

The drug is not used if the integrity of the packaging and labeling is broken, cloudy.

Storage of Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsifagus) after opening the bottle or ampoule is not allowed.
