Pharmacological properties

A combination drug of plant origin, has diuretic, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial action.

Indications

The drug is used in complex therapy:

– acute and chronic bladder infections (cystitis);
– for infectious and non-infectious chronic inflammation of the kidneys (pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis, interstitial nephritis);
– as a means to prevent the formation of urinary stones (also after removal of urinary stones).

A combined preparation of plant origin, it has a diuretic, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial effect.

Pharmacokinetics
There are no pharmacokinetic data available in humans.

Special instructions

If symptoms do not improve, worsen, or recur periodically, you should consult a doctor.
If you experience fever, cramps, blood in the urine, urinary problems, pain when urinating, or acute urinary retention, you should immediately consult a doctor.
In case of edema caused by impaired heart or kidney function, consuming large amounts of liquid is contraindicated, as well as if the doctor has recommended a limited drinking regimen.
Canephron® N should not be taken by patients with lactase deficiency, sucrase/isomaltase deficiency, or fructose intolerance; glucose-galactose malabsorption.
Information for patients with diabetes mellitus: the content of digestible carbohydrates in a single dose (1 tablet) corresponds to less than 0.04 XE, in the maximum daily dose (6 tablets) – less than 0.24 XE.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and machinery
When taken in recommended doses, the drug Canephron® N does not affect the ability to perform potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions (driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms, working as a dispatcher, operator).

Composition

Composition (per 1 tablet):

Active components:
crushed medicinal plant raw materials (powder):
Centaury herb 18 mg
Lovage medicinal root 18 mg
Rosemary leaves 18 mg

Excipients:
lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, corn starch, povidone K 30, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide.

Shell:
calcium carbonate, castor oil, liquid glucose, red iron oxide dye (E 172), corn starch, dextrin, glycolic mountain wax, povidone K 30, riboflavin, shellac, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy
The use of the drug during pregnancy is possible only as prescribed by a doctor, if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus and child.

Breastfeeding
It is not known whether the active components of Canephron® N or its metabolites are excreted into breast milk. A risk to a breastfed baby cannot be ruled out. Canephron® N should not be taken while breastfeeding.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug, to plants of the umbelliferous family (including anise and fennel), as well as to anethole (a component of the essential oils of plants such as anise and fennel).
Children’s age up to 6 years.
Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute stage.

Side Effects

The following undesirable reactions are given in accordance with the following gradations of the frequency of their occurrence:

Gastrointestinal disorders such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are often possible.
Allergic reactions may occur. Their frequency is unknown.
If the first signs of an allergic reaction or other adverse reactions appear, you should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

If you experience the side effects listed in the instructions, or they get worse, or you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, tell your doctor.

Interaction

Combination with antibacterial agents is possible and advisable. Interaction with other drugs is currently not known.

Overdose

To date, no cases of drug overdose have been registered. In case of drug overdose, symptomatic treatment is prescribed.

Storage conditions

Store in original packaging (pack), at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
Keep out of the reach of children!

Shelf life

3 years.
Do not use after expiration date.
