How to take, the dosage

The tablets are taken orally after a meal with a small (about ½ cup) amount of water.

The recommended dose for children from 3 years of age (body weight of 15-20 kg) is
50 mg/kg/day, divided into 3-4 doses. Adults – 6-8 tablets per day, children – ½ tablet per 5 kg/body weight per day. In severe forms of infectious diseases, the dose can be increased individually up to 100 mg/kg body weight per day, divided into 4-6 doses. The maximum daily dose for adults is 3-4 g/day, for children – 50 mg/kg/day.

Duration of treatment

acute illnesses:the duration of treatment in adults and children is usually 5 to 14 days. Treatment should be continued until clinical symptoms disappear and for another 2 days if there are no symptoms. If necessary, the duration of treatment may be increased individually under medical supervision.

In chronic relapsing diseases in adults and children the treatment should be continued in several courses of 5-10 days with a break of 8 days.

For maintenance therapy, the dose may be reduced to 500-1000 mg per day (1-2 tablets) for 30 days.

In herpetic infection in adults and children it is prescribed for 5-10 days until disappearance of symptoms, in asymptomatic period – 1 tablet 2 times a day for 30 days to reduce the number of relapses.

Papillomavirus infection in adults is indicated at 2 tablets 3 times daily, in children at ½ tablet per 5 kg/body weight per day at 3-4 times for 14-28 days as monotherapy.

For recurrent acute condyloma in adults the drug is prescribed 2 tablets 3 times a day, for children – ½ tablet per 5 kg/body weight per day at 3-4 times a day either as monotherapy or in combination with surgical treatment for 14-28 days, then with three repetitions of the above course at intervals of 1 month.

For cervical dysplasia associated with human papilloma virus, 2 tablets 3 times daily for 10 days, followed by 2-3 similar courses at 10-14-day intervals.

Application in elderly patients.Dose adjustment in elderly patients is not required, the drug is used as in middle-aged patients. Note that elderly patients are more likely to have elevated serum and urinary uric acid concentrations than middle-aged patients.

Application in children. The drug is used in children over 3 years of age.

Immune system disorders:

infrequent: urticaria, angioedema; frequency unknown: hypersensitivity reactions, anaphylactic reactions, anaphylactic shock.

Nervous system disorders:

often: headache, dizziness, fatigue, malaise, weakness; infrequent: nervousness, drowsiness, insomnia.

Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders:

often: nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, decreased appetite; infrequent: diarrhea, constipation.

Hepatic and biliary tract disorders:

often: transient increase in transaminase and alkaline phosphatase activity in blood plasma, increased concentration of urea in blood plasma.

Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders:

often: skin itching, rash; infrequent: maculopapular rash; frequency unknown: erythema.

Recreational and urinary tract disorders:

infrequent: polyuria.

General disorders and disorders at the site of administration:

often: joint pain, aggravation of gout.

Influence on laboratory and instrumental findings:

often: increased blood urea nitrogen concentration.

Overdose

In case of overdose, gastric lavage and symptomatic therapy are indicated.
