Iberogast, drops 100 ml

The drug has a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect, and also normalizes the tone of the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract: helps eliminate spasm without affecting normal peristalsis, and with reduced tone and motility has a tonic, prokinetic effect. In the experiment in vitro inhibits the growth of 6 subspecies of Helicobacter pylori.

Iberogast decreases intensity of gastric mucosa ulceration and hydrochloric acid secretion, decreases leukotrienes concentration, increases mucin production, increases concentration of mucoprotective prostaglandin E2 in gastric mucosa.

Indications

The drug is used to treat functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract (including irritable bowel syndrome), manifested by heaviness in the epigastric region, stomach or intestinal spasms, belching, nausea, flatulence, constipation, diarrhea or their alternation, as well as in the complex treatment of gastritis, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer.

How to take, the dosage

Ingestion.

Take before a meal or with a meal, with a little water, 20 drops 3 times a day.

The therapy duration is 4 weeks. It is possible to increase the duration of the course and to carry out repeated courses of treatment upon the doctor’s recommendation.

Special Instructions

The content of ethyl alcohol in the drug is from 29.5% to 32.6% (by volume). When taking 1 single dose (20 drops) the patient receives up to 0.24 g of absolute ethyl alcohol. The maximum daily dose of the drug (60 drops) contains up to 0.72 g of absolute ethyl alcohol. When used in recommended doses, the drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery.

When storing, slight clouding or precipitation is possible; this does not affect the therapeutic effectiveness of the drug. The contents of the bottle should be shaken before use.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, calculous cholecystitis.

Children (under 18 years) – (due to insufficient clinical data).

Side effects

Allergic skin reactions, shortness of breath, as well as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea are possible.

If any adverse reactions occur, discontinue the drug and see a physician.
