The medical product “HILOSAR-COMOD® ophthalmic moisturizing solution” is a combination of aqueous solution of sodium hyaluronate and dexpanthenol (provitamin B5). It is a sterile solution without preservatives in the original container (KOMOD® system).
HYLOSAR-KOMOD® solution contains hyaluronic acid (in the form of sodium salt) which is a natural substance. Sodium hyaluronate is a physiological polysaccharide compound found both in the tissues of the eye and in other tissues and body fluids of the human body. A special physical and chemical property of sodium hyaluronate molecules is their strong ability to bind water molecules. Aqueous solution of sodium hyaluronate has the necessary viscosity and high adhesive properties with respect to the anterior surface of the eye, due to which HILOSAR-COMOD® solution forms a uniform, long-lasting pre-threshold tear film which is not washed off while blinking and does not cause decrease in visual acuity. This means HILOSAR-COMOD® Solution can be used throughout the day.
The HILOSAR-COMOD® Solution contains dexpanthenol (provitamin B5) which effectively supports the moisturizing properties of sodium hyaluronate as it also has a high water binding capacity.
The use of HILOSAR-COMOD® Solution provides fast relief from eye irritation, reduces fatigue and promotes healthy eyes. HILOSAR-COMOD® solution makes the wearing of hard or soft contact lenses more comfortable and HILOSAR-COMOD® solution does not deposit on the surface of the lenses. Consistent and sufficient hydration of the eye surface with HILOSAR-COMOD® solution promotes normal physiological course and thus accelerates the healing of eye injuries and wounds after trauma and surgery.
HILOSAR-COMOD® solution is housed in the original COMOD® container which is an ingenious system of reservoirs and valves to ensure that no outside air enters and that equal-sized drops are removed regardless of the degree of force applied.
The metal parts and valves of the container which are in contact with the HILOSAR-COMOD® solution are partially coated with a thin layer of silver which together with the absolute air-tightness of the system ensures that the HILOSAR-COMOD® solution is sterile in the absence of preservatives.
This prevents possible undesirable effects of preservatives on ocular tissue and ensures good tolerance of HILOSAR-COMOD® solution even with prolonged use.

How to take, the dosage
It is recommended that HILOSAR-COMOD® solution be instilled into the conjunctival sac of each eye 3 times daily in 1 drop. If necessary, HILOSAR-COMOD® solution can be injected more frequently. The instillation frequency of HILOSAR-COMOD® solution is set individually depending on your sensations and in accordance with the recommendations of your ophthalmologist or contact lens specialist. If you inject HILOSAR COMOD® solution very frequently (e.g. more than 10 times a day) please consult your ophthalmologist.
There are no restrictions with regard to the duration of HILOSAR COMOD® solution use. Please also talk to your doctor if you continue to have discomfort or complaints for several days after using HILOSAR COMOD®.
The COMOD® System contains and allows 10 ml of HILOSAR COMOD® Solution which is about 300 drops of solution.
After the entire contents have been used, a new filled container of HILOSAR-COMOD® solution must be purchased as the system is not designed to be reused.
Terms of Use and Advice for Contact Lenses
The cap must be removed before each application.
Please before using HILOSAR-COMOD® solution for the first time turn the container upside down and press the base several times until the first drop appears at the tip of the dropper. The system is then ready to use.
When pumping HILOSAR-COMOD® solution, hold the container with the drip tip facing down quickly and firmly pressing on the base. This activates the drip mechanism and only one drop of solution is extracted. Due to the special design of the valves in the KOMOD® system the droplet size and extraction speed remain the same even when applying very high pressure to the base of the container. Tilt your head back slightly, slightly move your finger away from the lower eyelid and drip one drop into the conjunctival sac as described above. Slowly close your eyes to allow the fluid to spread evenly over the surface of the eye.
When finished, replace the drip cap with a seal.
You should avoid contact between the tip of the drip and the surface of your eye and skin during the drip.
When wearing soft or rigid contact lenses, HILOSAR-COMOD® Solution may be injected into the conjunctival sac without removing the lenses.
The COMOD® System is intended for individual use only.
