Hawthorn, tincture 25 ml

The remedy is of plant origin. Hawthorn fruits contain flavonoids (quercetin, hyperin, hyperoside, vitexin), organic acids (citric, oleanovaya, ursolic, krategusovaya, caffeic, chlorogenic), carotenoids, tannins, fatty oils, pectins, triterpene and flavonoid glycosides, beta-sitosterol, choline, sugars, vitamins.

The active substances of hawthorn decrease the excitability of the CNS and heart muscle, increase the contractility of the latter, improve coronary and cerebral circulation, eliminate dizziness. Hawthorn helps to normalize heart rhythm, which is presumably due to the mechanism of action characteristic of class III antiarrhythmics.

In experimental studies it has been shown that hawthorn gallenic preparations and triterpene glycosides have a pronounced anti-atherosclerotic effect.

Inhaled 15-20 drops 3 times a day before meals.

Interaction

Hawthorn preparations enhance the effect of cardiac glycosides.

The concomitant use with class III antiarrhythmics and cisapride is not recommended.

Special Instructions

Consult a doctor before use. It is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age.

Contraindications

Side effects

Possible: allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting, colic (if taken on an empty stomach), drowsiness, decreased blood pressure, bradycardia (with long-term use).
