Grippferon with loratadine, nasal ointment 10000 me+2 mg/g 5 g

The drug Grippferon with loratadine is based on recombinant human interferon alpha-2b and a second generation antihistamine substance – loratadine.

It is well known that patients with allergic diseases, particularly allergic rhinitis, have an increased susceptibility to respiratory viral infections.

Inflammatory changes in the respiratory mucosa of patients with allergic rhinitis contribute to the decrease of antiviral and antimicrobial protection and suppression of local immunity. This creates a favorable environment for reproduction of respiratory viruses.

The connection between respiratory infection and exacerbation of allergies has been proved by numerous clinical observations and laboratory studies.

1 g of ointment contains:

active ingredients:

interferon alfa-2b human recombinant not less than 10000 IU,

loratadine 2 mg,

excipients:

boric acid 1 mg,

sodium tetraborate decahydrate 1 mg,

glycerol 90 mg,

dinatrium edetate dihydrate 1 mg,

hypromellose 2.5 mg,

macrogol 4000 – 200 mg,

macrogol 400 – 600 mg,

purified water to 1 g.

How to take, the dosage

For prevention of flu and SARS (after contact with a sick person) the drug is used once a day (in the morning), smearing the nasal mucosa, releasing 1 cm of the drug in each nasal passage for 7 days.

For treatment of flu and acute respiratory infections, the drug is used 5 times a day by dabbing the nasal mucosa, releasing 1 cm of the drug into each nasal passage for 7 days.

Before applying the ointment it is necessary to clean the nasal cavity, and after application – to massage the nasal wings for better distribution of the ointment on the surface of the nasal mucosa. After application, sneezing, itching, temporary impairment of sense of smell is possible.
