Symptomatic treatment of constipation of various etiologies (when the use of oral medication is not possible).

Prevention of constipation in patients who cannot strain when defecating: painful thrombosed hemorrhoids, anal fissures or perianal abscess, anorectal stenosis, after myocardial infarction.

Directions for use

Rectally.

The drug is inserted into the rectum and left there for at least 5 minutes. Usually defecation occurs 5-10 minutes after the introduction of the product. The remains of the suppository are excreted from the intestine with the feces.

Children from 5 to 12 years of age are prescribed 1 suppository containing 1.24 g glycerol, once a day. Children over 12 years of age and adults are prescribed 1 suppository containing 2.11 g glycerol, once daily. If necessary, the dose is increased to 2 suppositories per day.

Special Instructions

Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using the suppositories.

Systematic administration is not recommended.

The treatment is stopped after restoration of normal intestinal peristalsis.

It is not recommended to use suppositories for a course longer than 1 week.

Do not lubricate suppositories with mineral liquid or solid oils.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to glycerol or any of the ingredients of the drug.

Intrusive bowel syndrome, intestinal obstruction, appendicitis, bleeding, diarrhea, acute hemorrhoids, anal fissures, inflammatory diseases and tumors of the rectum, undiagnosed abdominal pain, hemorrhagic rectocolitis, children under 5 years of age.

Renal insufficiency.

Side effects

Allergic reactions, local reactions (itching, burning in the anus area), the appearance of spastic pain in the intestine.

In prolonged use, there may be irritation of the rectum, weakening of the physiological process of defecation.
