Glycelax is a laxative.

Pharmacodynamics

It has an irritating effect on the mucous membrane of the large intestine by reflexively stimulating intestinal motility. Softens stools and facilitates their passage through the large intestine.

Pharmacokinetics

Glycerin is quickly and almost completely absorbed from the rectal mucosa. It is actively metabolized in the liver. It is one of the substrates for gluconeogenesis and increases plasma glucose levels.

With urine 7-14% is excreted unchanged.

Indications

Contipation of various origins; evacuation constipation in children from 3 months of age.

glycerol (glycerin);

How to take, the dosage

Rectally, 1 suppository once a day. In children from 3 months of age and older – in a dose of 0.75 g once a day.

The drug should not be used for more than 7 days without special instructions from the physician.

Special Instructions

In prolonged use, progression of the physiological process of defecation is possible. Systematic use is not recommended. Treatment is discontinued after restoration of normal intestinal peristalsis. Do not lubricate suppositories with mineral liquid and solid oils.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms.The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and engage in other potentially dangerous activities requiring increased concentration and rapid psychomotor reactions.

Contraindications

With caution: renal failure.

Side effects

Allergic reactions, local reactions (itching and burning of the skin) are possible.

Pregnancy use

Pregnancy is contraindicated due to possible reflex stimulation of the uterus.

In breastfeeding, use is possible after consultation with the doctor.
