Gaviscon® Forte is a drug that forms a protective gel barrier and prevents the contents of the stomach from flowing back into the esophagus, preventing heartburn.

How to take, the dosage

Ingestion.

Adults and children over 12 years of age: 5 – 10 ml after meals and before bedtime.

The maximum daily dose is 40 ml.

There is no need to change the dose for elderly patients.

Packet usage: Before opening the bag, use your fingers to knead the contents.

10 ml of suspension contains 106 mg (4.6 mmol) of sodium and 78 mg (2 mmol) of potassium. This should be considered if it is necessary to follow a diet with limited salt content (in congestive heart failure, renal dysfunction) or with the simultaneous use of drugs that may cause the development of hyperkalemia.

Please note that 10 ml of suspension contains 200 mg (2 mmol) of calcium carbonate. Therefore, the drug should be prescribed with caution in hypercalcemia, nephrocalcinosis and recurrent formation of kidney stones containing calcium.

If there is no improvement within 7 days, the patient should consult a physician.

Impact on driving and operating machinery

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery, as well as to engage in other potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and rapid psychomotor reactions.

Contraindications

High sensitivity to the ingredients of the drug, children (under 12 years).

Treatment: symptomatic therapy.
