Gaviscon ® double action effectively gets rid of both heartburn and heaviness in the stomach:

1) quickly neutralizes excessive stomach acid;

2) enters the stomach and interacts with its contents, forming a protective barrier (raft) that prevents the occurrence of heartburn.

Indications

Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux symptoms such as sour belching, heartburn, dyspepsia (digestive disorders, feeling of heaviness in the stomach) occurring after a meal, in patients with hyperacidity of gastric juice or during pregnancy.

Since calcium carbonate, which is a part of the drug, has antacid activity, between taking Gaviscon® Double Action and other drugs at least 2 hours should pass, especially when concomitant administration with H2-histamine receptor blockers, tetracycline antibiotics, digoxin, fluoroquinolones, iron salts, ketoconazole, neuroleptics, thyroid hormones, levothyroxine sodium, penicillamine, beta-adrenoblockers (atenololol, metoprolol, propranolol), glucocorticosteroids, chloroquine, bisphosphonates and estramustine.

Evaluation of the incidence of adverse reactions is performed on the basis of the following criteria: very common (≥ 1/10), common (≥ 1/100, < 1/10), infrequent (≥ 1/1000, < 1/100), rare (≥ 1/10000, < 1/1000), very rare (< 1/10000) and unspecified frequency (frequency cannot be calculated from available data).

Immune system disorders: of unspecified frequency – anaphylactic and anaphylactoid reactions, hypersensitivity reactions (urticaria).

Disorders of the respiratory system, thorax and mediastinum organs: of unspecified frequency – respiratory effects (bronchospasm).

If any of the side effects stated in the instructions become aggravated, or if you notice other side effects not specified in the instructions, inform the doctor.

Overdose

Symptoms: bloating may occur.

Treatment: symptomatic.
