Galstena, drops, 50 ml

Galstena is a complex homeopathic medicine.

It has hepatoprotective effect as manifested by decrease in severity of cytolysis syndrome and intrahepatic cholestasis, normalizes motor and evacuatory function of biliary tract, eliminates symptoms of dyspepsia.

The Galstena provides a choleretic, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory effect, prevents the formation of gallstones.

Pharmacokinetics

The action of Galstena is the result of combined action of its components; therefore kinetic observations are not possible; all components together cannot be traced by markers or bioassays.

For the same reason, the drug’s metabolites cannot be detected.

Active substances:

Carduus D1 – 2 ml,

Taraxacum D6 – 10 ml,

Chelidonium D6 – 10 ml,

Natrium sulfuricum D12 – 10 ml,

Phosphorus D12 – 10 ml;

Auxiliary Substance:

Ethanol 43% by weight.

How to take, the dosage

In acute and chronic hepatitis, hepatosis, chronic pancreatitis children under 1 year of age are prescribed 1 drop, children 1-12 years – 5 drops, adults and adolescents – 10 drops. Frequency of administration – 3 times per day. Duration of treatment – at least 3 months. If necessary, treatment can be repeated after one month.

In chronic cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, post-cholecystectomy syndrome, 5 drops are prescribed to children under 12 years of age; 10 drops to adults and teenagers. Frequency of intake – 3 times / day. Duration of treatment is 3 months. If necessary, the course of treatment may be repeated in 1 month.

In acute cases the drug is administered every 0.5-1 hours, but not more than 8 times / day. After improvement of condition the drug is prescribed 3 times/day.

The drug is taken 30 minutes before or 1 hour after meals (in children under 1 year old – before or 1 hour after feeding).

The drops are taken as such or diluted in 1 tablespoon of water. For children under 1 year old the drops are diluted in 1 teaspoon of water or mother’s milk.

Special Instructions

As Galstena oral drops contain herbal natural ingredients, slight cloudiness of the solution or weakening of the smell and taste may occur during storage without affecting the effectiveness of the drug.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

Side effects

Rarely: increased salivation.

The patient should be informed that if other side effects occur, consult a physician.

Pregnancy use

The use of drug Galstena during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) is decided individually depending on the clinical situation.
