Furacilin, 4 mg/ml concentrate 100 ml

Antimicrobial agent, nitrofuran derivative. Active against Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Bacillus anthracis; Gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp. (including Salmonella paratyphi).

Indications

Oternally: purulent wounds, bedsores, II-III degree burns, minor skin injuries (including abrasions, scratches, cracks, cuts).

Most locally: blepharitis, conjunctivitis, osteomyelitis, empyema of the accessory sinuses and pleura, urinary tract infections – cavity washing, acute tonsillitis, stomatitis, gingivitis.

How to take, the dosage

Topically, externally.

Aqueous 0.02% solution of nitrofural is prepared immediately before use: 5 ml of concentrate is dissolved in 100 ml of boiled or distilled water.

Applied. As 0.02% aqueous solution – irrigate wounds, bedsores, II-III degree burns, minor skin injuries (including abrasions, scratches, cracks, cuts) and apply wet dressings.

Local. Blepharitis, conjunctivitis – instillation of 0.02% water solution into the conjunctival sac. Postoperative osteomyelitis – irrigation of the cavity, followed by a wet dressing. Nasal sinus empyema (including maxillary sinus empyema) – washing the cavity, pleural empyema – after removal of pus the pleural cavity is washed and 20-100 ml of 0.02% aqueous solution is injected.

For irrigation of the urethra and the bladder aqueous 0.02% solution is used with an exposure time of 20 minutes.

In case of acute tonsillitis, stomatitis, gingivitis – rinse the mouth and throat with warm solution of 100 ml of 0.02% aqueous solution 2-3 times a day.

The duration of treatment according to indications depending on the nature and localization of the affected area.
