Pharmgroup: < br>
Local irritant.
Pharmic action:
Nonivamide:
It is a synthetic analog of capsaicin and has analgesic properties that result from gradual penetration of the substance into peripheral nociceptive C-fibers and A-delta nerve fibers upon repeated application of the drug to the skin.
Nicoboxyl:
It has a direct vasodilator effect.
Combined action:
Nonivamide and nicoboxyl have mutually reinforcing vasodilating properties, induce skin hyperemia, increase the rate of enzymatic reactions and activate metabolism.
The appearance of redness and increase in temperature of the skin within several minutes after application are indicative of rapid penetration of the active ingredients of the drug into the skin. The action of Finalgon® is localized.
The action of the drug develops within a few minutes and the maximum effect occurs after 20-30 minutes.

How to take, the dosage
Treatment should begin by applying a small amount of ointment to a small area of the skin to assess the individual response. Individual reactions to the product can vary widely: some people only need to apply a small amount of ointment to produce the desired warming effect.
With the applicator supplied, a column of ointment no more than 0.5 cm in size is applied to the corresponding palm-sized area of skin, gently rubbing it in. To enhance the therapeutic effect, the area of skin where the drug is applied can be covered with a woolen cloth.
The response to the ointment may decrease with repeated use, requiring a higher dose to be adjusted individually.
The ointment is used 2-3 times a day if necessary.
To warm up muscles before physical exercises, sports competitions, it is recommended to rub in about 30 minutes before they start.
Patients should be warned that if they do not see the desired effect within 10 days, they should see their physician.
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after application.
Interaction
There are no drug interactions between Finalgon® and other drugs used topically or systemically.
Special Instructions
The product causes skin hyperemia resulting in redness, heat, itching and burning sensations at the application site. These symptoms may be more pronounced if excessive amounts of the product are applied or if the skin is rubbed vigorously. Use of excessive amounts or intense rubbing of the skin surface may lead to vesicles or pustules where the ointment was applied.
Wash your hands with soap and water immediately after using Finalgon®.
Please be careful to avoid accidental contact with other areas of the skin or contact with another person.
Avoid accidental contact with the face, eyes, nose, or mouth. It can cause temporary swelling of the face, facial pain, conjunctival inflammation, eye hyperemia, burning eyes, visual disturbances, discomfort in the mouth, and stomatitis.
You should not take a hot bath or shower before or after applying the product to the skin.
Sweating or applying heat to the area where the product is applied may cause redness of the skin and an intense sensation of heat even several hours after applying Finalgon.
The product contains sorbic acid, which may cause local skin irritation (such as contact dermatitis).
Impact on ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms requiring increased attention
There have been no special clinical studies of the effect of the drug on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms. However, caution should be exercised while using the drug while driving and operating machinery.
Contraindications
Side effects
During long-term experience with the drug, the following side effects have been identified:
Immune system side effects: anaphylactic reactions, hypersensitivity.
Nervous system disorders: paresthesia, burning sensation of the skin.
Respiratory system disorders: cough, shortness of breath.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: vesicles or pustules at the application site, local skin reaction (e.g., contact dermatitis), itching, rash, facial edema, urticaria, feeling of heat at the application site.
Overdose
Symptoms: The effects of skin flushing and the severity of dose-dependent side effects may be exacerbated after the use of excessive amounts of Finalgon® ointment. Use of excessive amounts of the drug may cause vesicles or pustules to appear where the ointment is applied.
The drug overdose may cause systemic reactions (redness of the upper body, increased body temperature, blood rush, painful hyperemia, decreased blood pressure) because nicotinic acid esters have good transdermal absorption.
Treatment: if excessive amounts of the drug are used, the effect may be reduced by removing the ointment from the skin surface with vegetable oil or fat-based cosmetic cream, from the mucous membrane of the eye (in case of accidental contact) with medical vaseline. If necessary, symptomatic treatment should be carried out.
