Coronavirus is a single-stranded positive RNA virus with an envelope with a diameter of 80 to 120 nm. Its genetic material is the largest of all RNA viruses and an important pathogen of many domestic animals, pets and human diseases. It can cause a variety of acute and chronic diseases. Common signs of a person infected with coronavirus include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath, and shortness of breath. In more severe cases, the infection can cause pneumonia, acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death. The new 2019 coronavirus, or “SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19),” was discovered in connection with cases of viral pneumonia in Wuhan in 2019, and the name was given by the World Health Organization on January 12, 2020.
The WHO has confirmed that COVID-19 can cause colds, Middle East respiratory syndrome(MERS) and more serious illnesses such as severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). This kit is designed to aid in the diagnosis of coronavirus infection. The test results are for clinical testing only and cannot be used as the sole basis for confirming or excluding cases alone.
The STANDARD Q COVID-19 Ag test is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative determination of specific antibodies to SARC-CoV-2 present in the human nasopharynx. This test is intended for professional use by healthcare professionals or in laboratories only, as an aid in the early diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection in patients with clinical symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
The test provides only a preliminary screening result. More specific alternative diagnostic methods are required to confirm infection
The STANDARD Q COVID-19 Ag test has two pre-hidden lines (control line “C” and test line “T”) on the surface of the nitrocellulose membrane. Both lines are not visible before the samples are applied.
Mouse monoclonal anti- SARS-CoV-2 antibodies were applied to the test line and mouse monoclonal anti-Chicken IgY antibodies were applied to the control line.
Mouse monoclonal anti- SARS-CoV-2 antibodies conjugated to dye particles are used to detect the SARS-CoV-2 antigen.
During testing, the SARS-CoV-2 antigen in the samples interacts with the anti-SARS-CoV-2 monoclonal antibody conjugated to the dye particles to form an antigen-antibody colored particle complex. This complex travels across the membrane by pro-association to the test line, where it is intercepted by the mouse anti-SARS-CoV-2 monoclonal antibody. A colored test line appears in the results window if SARS-CoV-2 antigens are present in the sample.
The intensity of the colored test line will vary depending on the amount of SARS-CoV-2 antigen present in the samples. If the SARSCoV-2 antigens are absent from the samples, the test line will not show up. The control line is used for procedural control and should always be displayed if the test procedure has been performed correctly and the control line test reagents are working.
